Privacy Policy

Short version: your photos, your customers, and your claims never reach us. Everything you do inside the app stays on your device. We can't see your photos, your customer info, your descriptions, your reports — because we never receive any of it. The marketing pages on this site (like this one) use ordinary visit counters so we know which pages are useful. That's the whole story. The rest of this page is just detail.
The app itself — zero visibility
The ProofWolf app at proofwolf.com/claims runs entirely in your web browser. Every photo, every claim, every customer name, every description — all of it stays in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) on your phone or computer. Nothing uploads. Nothing syncs. We don't even have a server for that data to land on.
Specifically, we never see:
- Any photo you capture or upload
- Any customer name, address, phone, or claim number you type
- Any description you write or dictate
- Your inspector profile or company logo
- Any PDF you generate
- Any project you save or export
That's the strong promise. It doesn't change. If we ever needed access to any of that data — for any reason — we would have to ask you to send it. We can't get it on our own.
The local database — and why it helps you
Storing everything on your device isn't just a privacy decision — it's also how the Save Project feature works. When you tap Save, your project (claim info, every photo, every annotation, every description) gets written to your browser's local database. You can close the tab, walk away, come back hours or days later on the same device, open ProofWolf again, and your saved project is exactly where you left it.
The autosave does the same thing for in-progress work. If your phone dies mid-inspection or you accidentally close the tab, the draft restores automatically the next time you open the app — no manual save needed.
Two things to know about local storage:
- Saved projects are tied to this browser on this device. If you switch from your iPhone to a desktop, projects don't follow you automatically — use the Export → Import flow to move a project between devices.
- Clearing your browser data (Settings → Privacy → Clear Data) wipes every saved project along with cookies and cache. If a project is important, export a backup `.claims` file first.
The marketing site — basic visit analytics
This site (the pages at proofwolf.com, like the homepage, how-it-works, this page) uses two standard tools to count visits:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views and gives us aggregate traffic stats (how many people visited today, which page got the most views, roughly what country they're in).
- Google Analytics — same kind of thing: page views, where visitors came from (search, social, direct), and what device/browser type.
What this means in practice:
- We can see that 200 people visited the homepage today.
- We cannot see who any individual visitor is.
- We use this only to understand which pages are useful and what's confusing — so we can improve the site.
- This tracking is on the marketing pages only. It does not follow you into the app or see anything you do there.
If you want to opt out: most browsers let you block analytics scripts, or use a privacy extension like uBlock Origin. The site works fine without them.
What we don't do
- We don't have user accounts, so there's no email or password to collect.
- We don't track what you do inside the app. No usage telemetry, no clickstream, no session replay.
- We don't sell or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, FullStory, or any session-replay tools.
- We don't read your photos or claim files. We can't.
What loads from third parties
To keep ProofWolf fast and avoid bundling huge libraries, a few things load from external CDNs when you open the app:
- Google Fonts — for the Manrope and JetBrains Mono fonts. Google may log your IP address when serving these.
- jsPDF (via Cloudflare CDN) — the PDF-generation library. Cloudflare may log your IP address when serving it.
Your photos and claim data
Photos you capture or upload are stored as data inside your browser. They never leave your device. When you tap "Generate PDF," the PDF is built in your browser — on your phone or computer — and stays there until you choose to share it.
When you tap "Share" on mobile, your phone's native share sheet opens. Whatever app you choose (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, WhatsApp) handles the file from there. We don't see where it goes.
Backup files
The Export feature lets you download a `.claims` file containing your saved projects. That file lives wherever you save it (your downloads folder, cloud drive, USB stick — your choice). We can't see those files either.
Clearing your data
To delete everything ProofWolf has stored on your device:
- Use the in-app delete buttons to remove individual projects, or
- Clear your browser's site data for proofwolf.com (Browser Settings → Privacy → Clear Data → choose proofwolf.com).
Once cleared, there's nothing left. We have no copy.
Children
ProofWolf is a professional tool not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If anything material about our data practices changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. We won't quietly start collecting more than what's described here.
